Cinderella

Hallie Rossignol

Hallie is a grade 10 student who is extremely excited to be taking on the role of Cinderella. This is the second musical she has done with the BMHS theatre crew. Hallie has been a part of many other musicals outside of BMHS since the age of 5, and she enjoys working with her choir and dance studio. She cannot wait to perform with such lovely people in this production, and she has enjoyed every moment of creating multiple memories with everyone. Hallie would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Moore for believing in her and for giving her such an amazing opportunity, and to her mother for always helping out and encouraging her.

Christopher

Evan George Joby

Evan is a passionate vocalist who has been studying Hindustani classical music since the age of six. Currently in the second year of a five-year degree program, he has achieved first rank in his class. Over the years, Evan has won several singing competitions and performed as the lead vocalist in shows, musicals, and church choirs. Known for his caring and confident nature, he has a curious spirit that fuels his love for performance and interaction, only possible through the fountain of support from his family, mentors and peers. With a deep love for fine arts, Evan finds joy in both, performing and connecting with people through music and is curious about the future.

Maisie Briggs

Maisie is a 12th-grade student and is thrilled to return to the stage after playing Kelsi Nielsen in High School Musical last year. She has been involved with BMHS Drama since grade nine, making her debut in I’m Not Mad; I’m Just Disappointed, followed by roles in More, More, More!, Merry Friggin’ Christmas, and Popcorn Lung and Other Modern Problems. Maisie began her journey as an actress at age nine through SHINE, a local theater program, and her passion for the stage has only grown since. In addition to her theater work, Maisie is a member of the Mac”Note”on Singers and Vocal Ensemble. She is excited to take part in her final high school musical and is grateful for the unwavering support of her family and friends throughout her high school years and this amazing experience!

Fairy Godmother

Emerald Idowu

Emerald is a grade 11 student new to BMHS and is ecstatic to be Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother in the musical. This is her first time in anything this big, previously she was in the vocal ensemble and drama club at Harrison Trimble. Emerald is so happy to have been chosen to play such an important character and loves every second of it.

Grace

Pui Ling (Janice) Li

Janice is a student who loves acting on stage, especially when it comes to comical or evil characters. Although this is her first official musical production, she has had experience in drama productions such as the show Merry Friggin’ Christmas during Christmas 2022 at BMHS. Although Janice does not have much experience in singing, she loves singing in character and giving songs personality. Being on stage sets her free, and there is nothing more enjoyable to her than being a part of a grand production. Janice would love to thank her mom for bearing with listening to her nasally voice every night before bed, and also the cast for being such a kind and supportive family.

Joy

Irina Calin

Irina is a 9th grade student and is very excited to have a main role. This is her first musical at BMHS but has participated in Christmas musicals at Hillside Baptist Church and the Maplehurst Middle 2023 performance Annie! as main orphan July. She loves acting, singing, and wants to continue participating in BMHS musicals throughout her high school journey. She is very excited to stand in the spotlight and witness the making of Cinderella, both on stage and behind the scenes. She couldn’t have done it without Mrs. Moore guiding her along the way, along with her mom who would always give her encouragement after long rehearsals. And she especially couldn’t have done it without her sister Sefora without whom, she would not have had the courage to audition and gain this role.

Queen

Vanshika Vanshika

Vanshika is an ambitious grade 11 student taking on the role of the Queen in her first musical, an opportunity she is truly honored to experience. She has a passion for a variety of fields, including science, math, dancing, singing, and visual art, and she’s excited to explore the world of musical theater. As a member of BMHS's Vocal Ensemble, Vanshika has developed her vocal skills and loves being part of a collaborative artistic environment. Her fascination with all forms of art has made this musical experience especially meaningful to her. Vanshika is deeply grateful to her friends, teachers, and family for their continuous support and encouragement, which gave her the confidence to take on this challenge. Their belief in her has been a driving force, and she is excited to see how this new experience will unfold!

Spencer Bell

Spencer Bell is a super cool dude and an amazing actor. Whether it be through presidenting, representing our sports teams or participating in Cinderella, Spencer makes sure a fun time is had by all.

Udai is a Grade 12 student who’s the treasurer for BMHS Student Government, plays rugby, and makes films and music. He also loves to eat and go to the gym.

Young Cinderella

Piper Moore

Piper is a grade 1 student. Although this is her first BMHS musical, she has been in two Christmas musicals at Hillside Baptist Church. She enjoys singing, dancing, and taekwondo. She wants to thank her parents and sisters for giving her this opportunity.

Cinderella's Father

Mitchell Moore

Mitchell is excited to take on the role of Cinderella's father. Although it has been a while, this isn't the first time he has been on stage for a BMHS musical production. In addition to being in BMHS football, hockey, and rugby, Mitchell was an ensemble member in the 2004 rendition of the musical the Sound of Music. In 2005, he was in multiple numbers in that year's Broadway Review, ultimately bringing the house down with a rendition of Greased Lightning. Mitchell returned as a community member to fill out the ensemble for the 2006 production of Grease. Mitchell likes to sing and spend time outside, especially on the water in the summertime. He wants to thank Mrs. Moore for her excellent leadership and including him in this process, reinvigorating his passion for the theatre.

Ava Doucet

Ava is a 10th grade student and very excited for the production of this year’s musical! Cinderella will be her second musical, with High School Musical being her first. Ava has also participated in DramaFest 2024 and vocal ensemble at BMHS. Besides being a theatre kid 24/7, Ava is very invested in her studies and loves to read, hang out with her friends, and listen to music. Thanks to the encouragement of her friends and her mother within the past two years, she now loves to perform and hopes to pursue a career in the arts.

Yana Sharma

Mouse / Horse

Yana is a 10 grader with a spark for dramatic arts or being on stage in general. She was in the cast list in 2024’s musical as well, High School Musical, as Alan, which really helped her improve her stage presence. Apart from theatre, she is also gifted in visual arts and dance. Cinderella is her second musical production, and she is very grateful and happy to be part of it.

Brianna Lawrence

Brianna Lawrence has been passionate about theatre since fifth grade when she took on the role of the mother in George’s Marvellous Medicine. Since then, she has been a dedicated member of her high school’s drama program, performing in the annual Drama Fest and last year’s High School Musical. Beyond the stage, Brianna is a leader in her school community, serving as the head of the breakfast program and actively participating in various leadership initiatives. Her dedication to both the arts and student leadership makes her a valued member of the school. Brianna looks forward to continuing her involvement in theatre and leadership as she moves toward graduation and beyond.

Grace MacDonald

Bird / Baker / Footman

For the last four years, Grace has been involved in BMHS theatre. She started her high school acting journey doing devised theatre with Mr. Lloyd here at Bernice MacNaughton, in notable productions such as; I’m Not Mad Just Disappointed and Popcorn Lung And Other Modern Problems. Last year, Grace starred in her first musical, playing Ripper, a cello-loving skater dude, in Disney’s High School Musical. Outside of theatre, Grace enjoys several other extracurriculars including Girls Guides, Reach for the Top and volunteering. Now in grade twelve, Grace is excited to be a part of this year's musical. She can't wait to help bring the magic of this show to life. Grace would like to thank her friends and family for their encouragement and support, she couldn't have made it where she is today without them.

Ryles Miller

Ryles is a grade 11 student playing one of the 4 white mice in the musical Cinderella. They’ve never done a musical before, and Cinderella was a good first experience and introduction to musical theatre for them. Acting is a huge passion for them, and they are interested in acting as a career path, so this opportunity was of huge importance to them!​

Leyla Allen

Leyla Allen is a dedicated tenth-grade student, who has showcased her talent in the school's annual Drama Fest, where she discovered her passion for performing. Inspired by last year’s High School Musical, she took a bold step and joined the cast of Cinderella this year. Her enthusiasm and commitment to the stage continue to grow as she hones her acting skills and embraces new challenges. With a love for storytelling and performance, Leyla looks forward to many more fun acting times with friends!

Fairy Godmother's Magic Dancers

Stefanie Rio Velasco

Stefanie is a Grade 12 student who is thrilled to be one of the four magic dancers of the Fairy Godmother in BMHS’s production of Cinderella. A full-time dancer and part-time singer on stage—at least, as she likes to say— she also has experience in theatre plays but is stepping into the world of musicals for the first time. Stefanie is the founder of the BMHS Dance Club and a vocalist in both the Ensemble (under Mrs. Moore) and the Cover Band. She is grateful for the amazing cast and crew, whose backstage antics made every moment of this production even more unforgettable.

Tilly Boisvert-Veno

Tilly brings 10 years of dance experience to the stage of Cinderella. She would like to thank her family—her mom, for being her best friend, always listening, and offering unwavering support; her dad, for sharing laughter, endless conversations, and thoughtful debates; and her sisters, for being the best support system. She is grateful to her little brother for being her best buddy and biggest cheerleader. She also thanks her Nanny for her constant support and presence and her Papère for always believing in her—his joy and outlook on life continue to inspire her every day. Tilly extends her appreciation to her cast members for sharing this whirlwind journey and, finally, to Mrs. Moore, whose dedication has built an amazing and special theater community, making this experience possible.

Anastasiia Kutsurenko

Anastasiia (Ana) is a 9th grade student who loves musical theatre and karate. She has been in multiple musicals such as Oliver!, Madagascar, and Christmas Carol, but this is her first time participating in a high school musical production. At first, Ana thought that Cinderella was a bit boring, but as soon as the dress rehearsal week came around, she could not have been more grateful that she joined. She could not have done it without her supportive friends who light up her day, her understanding parents, and her amazing teachers.

Layla Adams

Layla is a grade 11 student with a passion for theatre and dance. She played Martha in the BMHS production of High School Musical and has enjoyed expanding her learning at the Capitol Theatre Academy camps and programs in the past year. Layla is also a part of the school's Student Government and has a large role in the BMHS “Clans” Leadership Group. So, when she’s not onstage, she is doing her part in helping the school run smoothly.

Shay is a grade 11 student onto her third musical and eighth show overall. Shay and quite an experience in the theatre and music world. She’s a soprano in the BMHS vocal ensemble, as well as her writing contributions to four one-act plays she helped to create and star in. In addition to being on stage, she worked to create the costumes for the male leads, as well as the ensembles costumes. Shay comes to the stage with her passion to grow and strive.

Jason Melendy

Jason Melendy has been a teacher for 17 years and has been the audio visual (AV) crew supervisor for 11 years. He enjoys the positive environment of theater and working with motivated students, where the team goal is to get better everyday.

Choreographer

Jillian LeBlanc

Mrs. Jillian LeBlanc has been a teacher at BMHS since 2007 and has been the choreographer for the school’s musicals since that time as well. She received a B.Sc-B.Ed from l’Université de Moncton and teaches Math and Biology to students from grades 10 to 12. While growing up, she spent countless hours at her local dance studio and has performed in many dance productions, both locally and at the national level. She has been thrilled to be able to apply those skills here at BMHS while working with students on the musical productions. At home, she enjoys watching her two young daughters discover and develop their own passion for dance.

Orchestra Manager

James Snelgrove

James Snelgrove has been teaching music in Anglophone East since 2013, and is in his second year at BMHS. He has thoroughly enjoyed working with the excellent singers and orchestral musicians of Cinderella for the past five months. Many thanks go out to the tireless staff who have given up so much of their time and energy to make this happen; the fruits of their labour are clearly evident on stage.

Martine Boudreau

Miss Martine Boudreau holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Mount Allison University and a Bachelor of Education from Crandall University. Raised in a lively, musical family with nine siblings, Martine was immersed in music from a young age. In high school, she was part of the comedy team, performing small sketches that sparked her love for creativity and performance. This is her first time being involved with a school musical, where she’s taken on the role of creating props with recycled materials and her vivid imagination. Excited and eager to contribute, Martine is thrilled to bring her unique skills to the show.

Matthew Bouchard

Matthew Bouchard is a musician and educator with a background in guitar, piano, and composition. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Mount Alison University, a Master of Music from The University of Edinburgh (UK), and a Bachelor of Education (Music) from Memorial University. With experience teaching and working with people of all ages, he is passionate about music education and currently teaches at Riverview East School.

Sarah Sprague

After graduating from BMHS in 2024, Sarah was thrilled by the opportunity to be involved in another show with the school, this time from a directorial perspective. During high school, she worked her jump shot as Chad Danforth in BMHS’s production of High School Musical and performed in four devised theatre productions, one earning her the award of “Outstanding Supporting Actor” at New Brunswick’s Drama Festival. On the musical side, she has performed on her own in the school’s Coffee Houses, as well as part of BMHS’s Vocal Ensemble and MacNOTEton Singers. Sarah plans to pursue her passion for theatre and music at St. Thomas University this fall. Her deepest gratitution goes out to everyone who has worked non-stop to help Cinderella come alive! It’s possible!

Assistant Director

Dara Harris

Mme. Dara Harris (B. A. Français, B. Ed.) is delighted to be back as an assistant director for Cinderella after her first experience with last year’s performance of High School Musical! She discovered her passion for theatre way back in the late1900’s during high school, where she acted in the senior class play. She continued to pursue theatre at university, taking classes and starring in several plays. During her over 30-year career, she has had the privilege to work with students teaching Theatre Arts courses, organizing and chaperoning drama festivals, and helping with and directing one act plays. Her foray into musicals has been an amazing experience and she is grateful to Mrs. Moore and the hardworking cast and crew for giving their all!

Beth Taylor

Beth Taylor, BSc, BEd, is a teacher at Bernice MacNaughton High School. She has always had a love for theatre. She is captivated by the excitement and energy of bringing a show to life, and she believes that participating in such productions is a life changing experience for students. Beth is continually amazed by the level of collaboration and teamwork that occurs throughout the process. She would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to everyone who said "yes" to the many requests that made this show possible. A special thank you goes to our director, Rebecca Moore, for generously sharing her incredible talents, boundless energy, and unwavering dedication to the students.

Director

Rebecca Moore

Mrs. Rebecca Moore (B.Mus, B.Ed), soprano, is elated to be directing this year’s production of Cinderella, after a successful directorial debut in last year’s High School Musical. While a BMHS student in the early 2000s, she participated in several musicals: Oliver! (Rose seller/Fagin’s Boy), Nunsense & Nunsense 2 (Sister Robert Anne), and Sound of Music (Maria Rainer). She went on to study musical theatre at Acadia University and received her B. Mus. in vocal performance from Mount Allison University. These days, she is shifting to the role of ‘stage mom,’ as she supports her 5 musical daughters. She is grateful to her husband, Mitchell, for filling in the gaps at home during the hours of rehearsal for this production.
