Annabelle Moore
Annabelle is a grade 9 student who is very excited to be playing SpongeBob in this year's musical at BMHS. She’s always been in love with the theatre and has acted in a variety of shows, such as the titular character in Maplehurst Middle School’s production of Annie, and a seventh grader in last year’s Cinderella. She’d like to thank her amazing castmates for their support, and her friends and family who’ve heard the songs more times than she can count!



Patrick Star
Javier Rapisura
Javier Rapisura (Grade 10) is excited to play Patrick Star in The SpongeBob Musical. He is a former music producer, artist, DJ for the electronic hip-hop studio “Unr3dacted”, and is a former voice actor for the Swedish-based indie game Haven and played Kyrillix before the game was discontinued. Javier was a well-known music artist from 2021 and 2022, and is also known for his skills in MMA, winning numerous semi-finals in Moncton. In ninth grade, he was a part of Vocal Ensemble and has been in multiple bands since. Javier would love to thank Mrs. Moore and Mr. Snelgrove, his friends, the band for their contribution and support, and the cast for making this production very special!

Sandy Cheeks
Pui Ling (Janice) Li
Janice is a grade 12 student who can’t live a day without music in her life, either by listening to her favourite songs, playing the guitar, or singing her heart out in the shower. She has been in a few theatrical performances at BMHS like Merry Friggin’ Christmas in 2022, and played as Grace, a stepsister, in our school’s production of Cinderella last year. Although her musical journey started not long ago, during this short period, she has fallen in love with the stage and the community that she has gotten to work with.
Without the kindness, encouragement, and belief from her teachers and peers, Janice would not have the confidence to perform the way she does today, and for that she deeply gives thanks to everybody who put faith in her.



Squidward Q. Tentacles
Emerald Idowu
Emerald (Em) Idowu, Grade 12, is thrilled to perform her second and final show with BMHS as Squidward Q. Tentacles. Last year, she was Fairy Godmother in the production of Cinderella, and she is very excited and extremely grateful that she has the chance to play a character that is very different. Em loves being on stage and getting the chance to bring characters to life and she has grown to love The SpongeBob Musical even more; she is very grateful for the opportunity to participate in something that means so much to her; she could not have asked for a better final show.

Mr. Eugene H. Krabs
Benedict Pamplona
Benedict Pamplona is a Grade 11 student at Bernice MacNaughton High School. He plays Mr. Eugene H. Krabs in The SpongeBob Musical. He played in the band for last year’s musical, Cinderella, in the percussion section. He likes to engage in Catholic philosophy, theology, and reading. He is also involved in game development with other people or by himself. He would like to give big thanks to the Most Holy Rosary for keeping him calm throughout production.



Plankton
Maya Idowu
Maya Nicole Idowu (Grade 10) is extremely excited to play Plankton in this year’s production. She has performed in a mini play in middle school and has participated in the BMHS vocal ensemble. Maya enjoys watching anime, reading and crocheting when she is not onstage. She loves breaking out into songs from her favorite musicals. Maya sends a big thank you to the Directors for all their hard work and welcoming her with open arms. She would also like to say thank you to all cast members for the memories she will have forever.

Karen the Computer
Isabelle Moffatt
Isabelle “Iggy” Moffatt (Grade 10) is very excited to play Karen in this year's production of The SpongeBob Musical. While they haven't been in any big production before, they have been in many Drama camps doing short plays here and there. If you don't see him on stage, he's probably talking about Dear Evan Hansen, Be More Chill, West Side Story, Heathers, or Mike Faist and will not shut up about it. They would love to thank the cast, crew, and their friends for their support and love throughout the production.



Perch Perkins
Layla Adams
Layla Adams is a grade 12 student with a passion for theatre. She is excited to play Perch Perkins and have the part as a lead dancer in this year’s production of The SpongeBob Musical. You may have seen her as Martha in High School Musical and as a Magic Dancer in Cinderella. Layla has also been a part of Vocal Ensemble and the BMHS vocal class for the past 2 years. When Layla is not at rehearsal, she is busy being Student Government Co-President, running around and planning events for the school to enjoy. She would like to thank her parents and sister, Libby for being so supportive.

Patchy the Pirate
Nowlan LeBlanc
Nolan LeBlanc (Grade 12) is happy to play as Patchy the Pirate in this year's production. He performed in Reindeer Paws, for the Christmas carol at Edith Cavell. He's obsessed with emulation games based on consols and handheld games. He would like to thank Mrs Moore and Sandra for letting him do his job in The SpongeBob Musical.

Shaylee Ferguson
Shaylee Rose (Shay) Ferguson (Grade 12) is an avid performer and is thrilled to be part of her third musical production with BMHS. You may have seen her in High School Musical or last year’s Cinderella. In addition to musicals, Shay has been involved in Drama Club and Vocal Ensemble since her first year at Bernice, even earning the Outstanding Actor Award at last year’s Provincial Drama Festival for scenes she not only starred in, but also helped write. This year, as a Grade 12 student, Shay took on her first directorial project titled Telephone. The arts have been a central part of her life from a young age—whether she’s singing, acting, or spending hours at the piano, her creativity is always in motion. Shay can usually be found writing, drawing, or performing, constantly searching for new ways to tell stories and express herself. She is incredibly grateful for the opportunities and community that theatre has given her and is excited to close out her final year on stage as Mrs. Mayor.

Old Man Jenkins
Natasha Robichaud
Natasha Robichaud is in Grade 10, and is excited to play Old Man Jenkins in this year’s musical. Previous roles include Regina Flector, the title role, in Regina Flector Wins the Science Fair and Mr. Brownlow in Oliver! She is also known for participating in the Drama Club and Reach for the Top. Natasha would like to thank her family and friends for their support and her castmates for being so amazing.



Pearl Krabs
Irina Calin
Irina is a 10th grade student with a passion for musicals! In this year’s production she will be playing the role of Pearl Krabs, a dramatic teen with a longing for her father’s attention. She has been involved in many productions in her past, some including this July in Annie! and Stepsister Joy in last year’s production of Cinderella. Regardless, she can’t wait to step back into the spotlight and watch the performance come to life! Irina absolutely loves singing, taking part in her church’s worship band and vocal class at school. She would like to thank her mother, for her amazing support, her directors and the Lord for getting her this far.

French Narrator
Sophie Carrier
Sophie Carrier (Grade 10) is enthused she gets to be part of this production and play the role of the French Narrator as well as one of five Sardine Devotees. She has been a part of school theatre since kindergarten; though most roles were ensemble, she was joyed to be there. In Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, she played the role of Antonia in 7th grade and one of two narrators in The Sound of Music! Last year she was in Cinderella's ensemble, and was also part of Vocal Ensemble. In her free time, she loves to read the bible and praise the Lord! She’d love to thank her friends and family for sticking by her side on this crazy journey and her Directors for always being considerate and making the shows so much fun.



Mrs. Puff
Mya Labour
Mya Labour (Grade 12) is new to the performing world and has the pleasure of playing Mrs. Puff. Mya has an affinity towards the arts and enjoys drawing, painting, playing piano and guitar. She is thankful to Mrs. Moore and Mr. Snelgrove for the chance to perform in her final year and to her friends and cast mates for supporting her and making her feel so welcome!

Buster Bluetang
Nokomis Morris
Nokomis Morris is very proud to be playing Buter Bluetang in this year's musical. She's done multiple middle school plays before and enjoys doing theatre. She'd like to thank her parents, her partner, and the rest of the cast and crew for all their hard work and support!



Larry the Lobster
Scott Nickerson
Scott has a passion for entertaining and bringing joy to audiences. He has been involved in many productions, both on stage and behind the scenes, including Lord of the Onion Rings, a parody of The Lord of the Rings. Favourite roles include Drago, the dragon mascot for Crystal Palace, and a scarer for Boo at the Zoo.

Sardine Devotee #1
Alvina Alam
Alvina Alam is thrilled to be part of the dance crew and a Sardine at The SpongeBob Musical. She loves working with everyone in the production and singing, and she’s excited to be part of such a fun and energetic show. Alvina has previously performed as a main role in Annie JR. in middle school and was part of Cinderella last year. She is also a member of the Moncton Youth Choir, where she continues to share her love of music and performance.



Sardine Devotee #2
Alissa Jose Rocha
Alissa Rocha Jose (Grade 12) is excited to play Sardine Devotee #2 in this year’s musical. Previous credits include High School Musical as a Cheerleader and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as Violet. Alissa is currently the head supervisor of the journalist team in our school’s yearbook team. She’d like to thank her family, boyfriend (Joon Jung), and all her friends for always believing in her.

Gary the Snail
Anastasiia Balycheva
Annie Balycheva (Grade 10) is happy to play Gary and a Teen Fan roles in this year's production. Last year, she participated in a musical Cinderella and was a part of a vocal ensemble. Annie is really passionate about being on stage and used to dance ballet and play piano when she was younger. She would like to say thank you for her parents' support, for the cast and crew who were always positive, and the directors for making such a beautiful show come true.

Lillith Parker
Lillith Parker (Grade 11) is excited to play Security Guard #1 and Mob Fish in this year’s production of The SpongeBob Musical. Some previous experiences include two devised theatre projects and stage crew for the last two BMHS musical productions. In their freetime, they enjoy other creative activities. They would like to thank their friends and family for their support.

Security Guard #2 / Johnny the Bartender
Lana Briggs
Lana Briggs is a Grade 10 student who is super excited to perform as Security Guard #2, Teen Fan #2, and Johnny the Bartender in this year's musical. Her previous performances include Tiffany in Regina Flector Wins the Science Fair, an ensemble member in Cinderella, Vocal Ensemble, and various other drama and music performances. In her free time, Lana enjoys playing piano and singing. Lana would like to thank her friends and her family for their support and thank the directors for the opportunity as well as her castmates for bringing the show to life.

Felipe Guerrero
Felipe Guerrero is in grade 10. Felipe's role in The SpongeBob Musical is a boulder, not the one from Avatar The Last Air Bender like a rock. Felipe's maternal family is "farm folk." A shout out to Mrs Moore, Mr Snelgrove, Madam Mayor, for keeping this family together.

Digital Background Design
Steve Cormier
Steve Cormier has been at BMHS since year one of the high school reboot, in 1999. Through the years, he's taught everything from FILA to Journalism. He's also coached volleyball, run the AV crew, did the Yearbook, but he's spent the most of his time advising Student Government. His interest in graphics design and video editing has manifested itself throughout the years, notably in last year's Cinderella digital backgrounds and this year's production.



A/V Director
Jason Melendy
Originally from Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, Jason Melendy moved to Nova Scotia in 1991 to pursue Post Secondary studies. Since 2008, he has worked at BMHS, teaching science and leading the Audio Visual (AV) team. Prior to this, he enjoyed a ten-year period of employment at Fisheries and Oceans as a biological technician travelling over all over Atlantic Canada’s marine areas.

Choreographer
Jillian LeBlanc
Mrs. Jillian LeBlanc has been a teacher at BMHS since 2007 and has been the choreographer for the school’s musicals since that time as well. She received a B.Sc-B.Ed from l’Université de Moncton and teaches Math and Biology to students from grades 10 to 12. While growing up, she spent countless hours at her local dance studio and has performed in many dance productions, both locally and at the national level. She has been thrilled to be able to apply those skills here at BMHS while working with students on the musical productions. At home, she enjoys watching her two young daughters discover and develop their own passion for dance.

Deanna Barriault
Deanna Barriault has been teaching for 20 years. She has been teaching English and Writing at BMHS for the last 5. She is a daughter, sister, friend, aunt, niece, wife, mom and grandmother to 6 wonderful children. She is passionate about the arts and loves to keep her hands busy with all things crafty. She has been involved in musicals most of her life, acting in high school and college, and training at Oxford University and in London. Now she finds her niche in costuming, creating and sourcing just the right look for our BMHS musicals.

Property Manager
Martine Boudreau
Martine Boudreau is a creative and hands-on teacher who loves bringing ideas to life by designing and building pieces for the school musical - some of which are true feats of engineering. A longtime lover of the performing arts, she has enjoyed singing and acting for many years, and played the saxophone and clarinet in her school band, in addition to performing as a singer in a band. Growing up in a large family helped shape her strong sense of teamwork and humour. Now a math and science teacher and proud of parent of three, she is excited to support the school musical as Property Manager, helping bring the show to life from behind the scenes.

James Snelgrove
James Snelgrove has been teaching music in Anglophone East since 2013, and is in his third year at BMHS. He is incredibly excited to be conducting The SpongeBob Musical this year, and is thrilled to be a part of the excellent and collaborative production team.

Wabanaki Ensemble Director
Roseanna Murphy
Rosanna Murphy is a Grade 7 French Immersion teacher at Wabanaki School and the choir director for the Wabanaki School Choir. She holds a Master’s degree in Music and Pedagogy, with additional graduate studies at the University of Toronto, and completed her undergraduate studies at Mount Allison University and York University.

Prior to teaching full time, Rosanna ran a successful private voice and music studio in Toronto and performed professionally as an opera singer. Now in her ninth year as a French Immersion teacher, she remains committed to integrating music into her teaching practice.

Rosanna directs a large choir at Wabanaki School, with 15 of those choir members participating in this production. Born and raised in Moncton, she is delighted to help students connect with their future high school and develop a lasting appreciation for live theatre.



Assistant Director
Noah Hopkins
Noah Hopkins is excited to be Assistant Director for The SpongeBob Musical at Bernice MacNaughton High School. He previously performed in In the Heights and Dracula and has a lifelong love for theatre and musical theatre, including seeing many Broadway productions over the years. This is the first experience assistant directing a musical, and they are incredibly grateful to Mrs. Moore for her mentorship and for providing this opportunity.

Beth Taylor
Beth Taylor, BSc, BEd, is a teacher at Bernice MacNaughton High School. She has always had a love for theatre. She is captivated by the excitement and energy of bringing a show to life, and she believes that participating in such productions is a life changing experience for students. Beth is continually amazed by the level of collaboration and teamwork that occurs throughout the process. She would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to everyone who said "yes" to the many requests that made this show possible. A special thank you goes to our director, Rebecca Moore, for generously sharing her incredible talents, boundless energy, and unwavering dedication to the students.

Rebecca Moore
Mrs. Rebecca Moore (B.Mus, B.Ed), soprano, is elated to be directing this year’s production of The SpongeBob Musical. While a BMHS student herself in the early 2000s, she participated in several musicals including The Sound of Music (Maria Rainer). She went on to study musical theatre at Acadia University and received her B. Mus. in vocal performance from Mount Allison University. These days, she is shifting to the role of ‘stage mom,’ as she supports her 5 musical daughters. She is grateful to her husband, Mitchell, for filling in the gaps at home during the hours of rehearsal for this production.
